Certifications & Awards

USDA Certified
Organic certification requires that farmers and handlers document their processes and get inspected every year to account for each component of the operation, including, but not limited to, seed sources, soil conditions, crop health, weed and pest management, water systems, inputs, contamination and commingling risks and prevention, and record-keeping.
The Japanese Agricultural Standard (JAS) is maintained by the Japanese government; it includes standards for quality and production methods that are provided for foods, beverages (not including alcohol), and forestry products.
HALAL Certified

Fujini Tea is proud to be Halal Certified by the Japan Halal Foundation for meeting their standards for sanitation, traceability, integrity and composition.

ISO 22000 is a food safety management system that maps out what an organization needs to do to demonstrate its ability to control food safety hazards in order to ensure that food is safe. Our certification indicates that those requirements have been met.
Great Taste Award

Since 1993, the Great Taste Award has been one of the UK’s most trusted benchmarks for specialty food and drink. Each of the 10,000 products seen by the Guild of Fine Foods is put through a rigorous judging process. Fujini Tea is proud to be recognized by this organization.

Ours is a vegan facility – our teas are processed without ingredients produced or derived from animals.
Tea is naturally 100% gluten free. All of our blends are gluten free as well, including those with toasted rice.

Ceremonial grade matcha is the highest quality grade of matcha and is used in the Japanese Tea Ceremony. It tends to be slightly more subtle and nuanced than culinary grade matcha, and should be consumed on its own not as an ingredient.
